Fantastic family tour with Charter North – 6 days/5 night Kakadu, Katherine and Litchfield

What an incredible experience. Our family of four (kids 7 and 9) are just back from an amazing 6 day 5 night kakadu experience with Charter North Safaris. It was just magical. The experience and expertise that GT and Alina have in planning a trip like this is quite spectacular. We knew we wanted to see this part of Australia, but with two kids aged 7 and 9, we didn’t want to be stuck with a large group as many other operators only take kids 12+ if you want to do any hiking or physical activity. Our family hikes a lot, and so when we found this company and first chatted with GT, there was an ease and I just knew that what we wanted out of the holiday he could deliver. The vehicle was great, we loved camping under the stars, the swimming holes were amazing, the company of GT and Alina was great and they were so wonderful with the kids – especially our daughter’s endless questions. They are both so knowledgable about the area, so friendly, patient, practical, organized. The meals cooked over the fire were amazing (lamb roast!!! my 9 year old died and went to heaven with that meal!). I can’t recommend them enough, if you are reading this review, just book them. You won’t be disappointed and you will get to experience such a wonderful holiday.

The best /only way to get the real Kakadu,Arnhemland,Litchfield experience

We had originally planned to hire a car and do a “do it yourself” trip with another couple through Kakadu, Katherine and Litchfield. Fortunately in the planning we came across Charter North 4WD Safaris and after a number of informative discussions with Greig (GT) we signed up for a 4 night/5 day tour and we are glad we did.The experience was beyond our expectations.
GT and his wife Alina did everything for us. A comfortable vehicle, 3 excellent meals each day and an itinerary that gave us a unique appreciation of the area. With over 30 years experience in Northern Australia GT was able to take us to places and provide us with knowledge that the average tourist would otherwise not experience. GT and Alina were great company and we would highly recommend Charter North to anyone wanting to get a true Northern Australia experience.

Private Kimberley Tour with friends

We did the 10 day Kimberley Tour with GT as our guide in August 2022. Only 6 of us on the tour so we were looked after really well. GT was very knowledgeable having spent 25 years in the Kimberley’s. The rock art and walks into the gorges were fantastic. GT is a great cook and many great meals were had around the campfires at night. Can highly recommend Charter North.

Six Magic Days and Nights on a Kakadu & Beyond Tour

I want to record my appreciation of the effort you put into making our holiday a huge success as we explored Kakadu, Nitmiluk & Litchfield National Parks. In particular we want to commend the contribution made by GT. He was everything we could want of a guide – friendly, knowledgeable, expressive, practical and patient. The kids too found him a load of fun.We were astounded by the natural beauty and diversity of our various destinations in Kakadu, Nitmiluk and Litchfield, and very happy with the food and camping equipment and choice of campsites. Great tour with the perfect mix of activity and relaxation

I had an amazing 3 days camping trip with my 2 young children (7yo and 10yo).
Spectacular gorges, hikes, crocodiles and historical sites. Just the right mix of relaxation and activity.

Our guide, Joe, was so knowledgeable, flexible with the itinerary and great with kids.
I’d definitely recommend it for anyone coming to Kakadu with kids!

The best personalized tour I’ve ever done- a truly awesome trip

Grieg and Alina run such a personalized and professional tour. They take care of all little things to allow you to enjoy the amazing places you visit. Grieg’s knowledge and enthusiasm for all things Kimberley’s related is just astounding. The meals are delicious, the car is comfortable and Grieg is a very skilled driver and bushman. The time and effort he takes to get to know each of his passengers, young and old makes it feel like you are traveling with a friend. The high level of communication with either Grieg or Alina through the booking process ( and Covid delays!!) was always prompt and informative. Travelled on 13 Day Kimberley Tour in August 2022.

Kakadu & Beyond

Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids (11 & 13) did the 6 day Kakadu and Beyond tour and I cannot recommend Charter North more highly. Thanks to Greig and Alina for organising such a great trip for us. Communication and booking process was excellent. Our guide Bronni was a wealth of knowledge and catered the itinerary to our interests. We got to do some fantastic hikes and swims in beautiful fresh water holes. The scenery is spectacular. The kids said that Bronni made everything so fun and they loved it! We really appreciated getting away from the crowds and even spent one night camping in a spot with not another soul to be seen. The food was great – healthy and fresh. Bronni did an awesome job cooking over the campfire. The camp gear was good quality and quick and easy to set up. It really is great to turn up for a camping trip just having to pack your clothes and not worry about anything else. Thanks again Greig, Alina and Bronni for a fantastic trip! 6 Day Kakadu & Beyond Experience

What a wonderful life experience in an amazing part of the world! We are a family of 4 with young adults 18 & 20 who all thoroughly enjoyed our time with Greig from Charter North. We spoke to Greig as part of the booking process (tip – book as early as you can) who provided us with a great overview of how Charter North differentiates itself in the market. These are private tours where all you need to do is bring yourself and your clothes and they take care of all the rest – perfect so everyone in the family is on holiday. We worked our way through Kakadu for 3 days and then down to Katherine and back up to Litchfield. Greig provides an in-depth commentary along the way that included: rock art; visiting gorges; bush camping; and lots of stories and laughs along the way (and more!) Charter North’s equipment provided: comfortable sleeping in swags in dome tents (the stars are amazing!); a very comfortable 4WD (over 800km covered); and impressive catering (Greig just makes it all happen). We would highly recommend Charter North and are now thinking about a Kimberley adventure. Travelled on 6 Day Kakadu & Beyond Tour in July 2022.

Family holiday – what an experience!

We did a 4-day, 3-night tour of the Kakadu National Park. We have a young family children aged 9 and 6 and we just had such an amazing time. Our tour guide Broni was amazing as a guide, she was knowledgeable and so engaging with us and our children. The food was also delicious and healthy, Broni prepared the food for us on the campfire every night which was such a special experience. Also the correspondence from Alina was amazing and she sent through all the information we required before the trip. This was definitely one of the best family experiences we have had as a family. Broni, you are amazing and thank you for sharing your passion, skillset and time with our family. Travelled on 4 Day Kakadu Tour in July 2022.

4 day Kakadu trip with teens

We cannot recommend Charter North any more highly! From the initial planning emails, we were impressed with Alina and Grieg’s efficient professionalism, prompt communication and personalised approach in creating a customised itinerary for our family of 6 (4 teenagers 13-16yo). The dedication and passion they share towards providing customers the best tour experience was apparent throughout the whole process with such attention to detail and care in all aspects. Our family had a fantastic 4 days with GT and were thoroughly entertained and educated by GT’s stories, humour and passion. We never ran out of conversation despite the many hours of driving. He took the time to chat to each of our children and engage them individually in the experience. His extensive experience from travelling and guiding in the top end for 25 years meant there was nothing he didn’t know! His genuine passion and enthusiasm for the top end was apparent and inspiring. Due to his expertise and planning, we were able to explore more remote areas of Kakadu where we had access to crystal clear water in beautiful gorgeous gorges with few others around. We also got to play in the beautiful waterfalls and rock pools of Litchfield. We were well fed with fantastic meals prepared each night over the wood fire and the snacks and lunches were healthy and enjoyable. We all enjoyed sleeping under the stars and kept warm in the provided swags and tents. Our kids enjoying the unique experience and appreciated the remote beauty of the area, and didn’t even complain about the lack of phone reception! We are so grateful to have found Charter North and to have such a rare and unique opportunity to have such a memorable experience. Thank you GT and Alina!! Fantastic organisation, knowledgeable guides and care for every little detail from A to Z, and everything in between!

Amazing and memorable 4-day Kakadu and Litchfield NP camping tour with Bronwyn! As a family of 4 with two small children we were looking for a flexible, personalised, thrilling …(but age-appropriate) programme to help us get the most out of our Top End adventure. I think it’s fair to say we hit the jackpot with Charter North! ? Right from the initial planning stages, we got knowledgeable, enthusiastic, tailored (and very patient!) advice and guidance from Alina. The support and patience in answering all our novice questions made us feel very confident about our chosen itinerary and accommodation – despite, if I am honest, some significant reluctance initially to camp in the scary bush! Every detail was attended to, and special care was taken to ensure the trip would be both comfortable and memorable for the kids as well as us – including planning in extra snacks, comfort breaks, and adapting activities to be safe and manageable for a 4- and 6-year old. Our guide, Broni, was absolutely fabulous. throughout – especially with our kids and they both adored her and sat enraptured at her relating of stories and fables around the campfire. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We saw and learnt so much, and experienced an adventure well beyond our comfort zone, without ever feeling actually uncomfortable. Indeed quite the opposite – everything necessary was provided, and the menus and catering were marvellous, delicious and healthy – always varied and fresh. As if that were not enough, a special thanks goes out for rescuing and reuniting our daughter with her favourite soft toy (who had got himself rolled up in her swag) just in the nick of time before we left Darwin. Excellent journey through iconic Kakadu national park

Enjoyed all components a a fabulous Kakadu trip. The scenery especially the stone country and the rock art was far better than we anticipated with the information provided by our very knowledgeable guide GT adding much to our enjoyment. We loved the rock pools to swim in after a hike. The food was excellent, varied and healthy. We slept in mozzie free tents using swags which were very comfortable. GT knew all the birds and plants during our trip which was very helpful. The vehicle was great and air con was welcome at times. Travelled on 4 Day Kakadu camping Tour in June 2022.
