What an unbelievable experience we had on our 6 day Kakadu adventure. The scenery, the hiking, our excellent guide GT with his wealth of knowledge, the cooking and evenings around the campfire.
I would not hesitate in recommending Charter North 4WD Safaris for your own adventure through the NT.

We had the most incredible 6 day tour through Kakadu with Charter North, it was an experience that we will cherish forever! company is absolutely awesome. Our guide, GT, incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, super organized, and top it all off, fantastic cook!

We had the most amazing time with GT.
His knowledge of the area added so much depth to our understanding of the history culture and geology of Kakadu. He timed our visits to Kakadu’s sgtunning sites so we would avoid the crowds. We even had Jim Jim falls to ourselves late one afternoon. GT took away the stress of driving and planning the days so our whole family could enjoy our 5 days in Kakadu together.
I wholeheartedly recommend Charter North and GT!

Thanks GT for a really authentic small group 4WD camping experience, and for guiding us through the Bungle Bungles and the Kimberley in early June 2024. We had wonderfully mild weather, with a green tinge still present over the landscape, and enjoyed crystal clear water in the many gorges and swimming holes you took us too. We really appreciated your vast knowledge of the area’s flora, fauna and geology, and the history of the first nation’s people, and the tragedy of the many early european conflicts. Charter North (GT) recently organized our 5 day tour through the Northern Territory. GT was amazing, super organized and full of knowledge. He thought of everything and made the whole experience really authentic. He helped us get the most out of the quick trip, he knows the best routes, the best swimming holes and the best places to view the gorgeous landscapes. He assessed our abilities and took us on hikes that were perfectly suited to us. He was also funny and very enjoyable to chat with. Highly recommend letting Charter North organize your once in a lifetime holiday experience!

I can’t recommend Charter North enough if you want to experience the Top End of the Northern Territory. I had the pleasure to spend 5 days with GT, who helped me to craft the perfect birthday trip for my mother. My mother and I are both very interested in indigenous art and history of the region so it was incredibly important for us to find a guide who was knowledgable and sensitive to the complexity of the indigenous history of NT. From the very second GT picked us up in Darwin, I knew we made the right decision with Charter North. GT came with everything we might need for an enjoyable five days in Kakadu and Nitmiluk. We had excellent conversations, beautiful hikes to waterfalls and rock art, super delicious and healthy food, and so many once in a lifetime experiences in those five days. I am already dreaming of a return tour. GT, thank you for a trip of a lifetime!

I am an American born, daughter of a rural Australian woman. My daughter took me back as a a birthday gift for my 72nd year. Let me first say, that I have pretty much traveled the world and was finally ready for a spiritual journey to hear those sounds and trigger memories of my mother’s magical upbringing.
My daughter does extensive research on everywhere we go together. We like to be away from the tourist world, see the people, understand the history and to wander unencumbered. That would be impossible in the “Outback” so the guide she picked HAD TO BE super experienced, clever in an emergency, open minded, good sense of humor, informed on most issues aboriginal, a good cook, on time, dependable, very fit, non-sexist, worldly AND like smart, opinionated women. That description just barely covers the expansive qualities and generous character of “GT”, the owner of Charter North and our private guide.
Our experience was stellar from the moment he grabbed our bags from our hotel in Darwin. The three of us took off in his “safari’ vehicle with a trailer that towed our packs, food and whatever else we would need if all hell broke loose. We were in great hands. We hiked into gorgeous canyons, saw rock art with no one around, heard stories of crocodiles, watched wallabies scatter, buffalo amble and swam in waterfalls. GT planned all of our meals according to our dietary wants and needs. For five days, GT prepared our outdoor breakfasts while we listened to the birds, our lunches under the shade of a tree and our dinners under the stars. Everyday was different and we experienced everything from a monstrous thunderstorm to sauna drenching heat. While he slept outside each night, we bedded down in quaint cabins with good mattresses and ample hot water.
Charter North and GT gave me everything I had hoped for, a mind blowing, deeply spiritual trip to the Outback that will be one of the highlight’s of my life. He and his company are beyond words. Fabulous!

We’re a family of 4 (with two boys aged 9 and 6). We did a 3-day Kakadu tour with Greig (GT).
We had an excellent experience from our initial e-interactions with Alina who was very patient in helping us find the most suitable tour/itinerary (even after we had to make a few adjustments in the lead up) to GT going out of his way to drop us at the airport after the tour to make sure we made our flight! Nothing was too much trouble. One of the most important benefits to going on a private tour with Charter North was GT knowing how far we could stretch our sons when it came to the hikes and swims. That allowed us to experience more than we would have otherwise done by ourselves, maximising the tour for us all.
The food on tour is excellent – healthy, fresh and varied. Camping in a dome tent in a swag under the stars was stunning.
We saw a lot of self drives when we were on tour but if you want the real experience, with a guide that truly understands the land and its cultural significance, and will explain it to you with real passion, I’d strongly recommend going with Charter North.
Thanks Alina and GT for an incredible trip. It’s one we’ll remember forever.

We experienced the “real” Australia on our 9 day Kimberley tour with Charter North. It really was the trip of a lifetime through the most incredible country. Absolutely awesome! We couldn’t have wished for a more knowledgable, experienced, good-to-be-with guide/host/chef/driver and companion in GT. Sleeping under the stars, reconnecting with nature and the outdoors added to the memorable experience. We loved the trour, thoroughly enjoyed being with GT and would highly recommend Charter North to anyone and everyone!

We did a five night, six day camping tour with Charter North 4WD Safaris. We went to Kakadu National Park, Nitmiluk National Park, and Litchfield National Park. Our guide, Alina, was AMAZING! She was extremely knowledgeable of the parks, took us to wonderful camping spots, and on amazing hikes to see waterfalls and swimming holes. And, she prepared the best meals for us as well! The camping gear, 4WD, and trailer equipment was all in excellent condition. We could not have asked for a better camping experience! Our two teenage boys had a wonderful time as well and loved the beautiful sights and wildlife (wallabies, parrots, cockatoos, and dingoes). We were also able to meet and spend time with Alina’s partner and other guide, GT while at waterfalls with his group, and he was wonderful as well. We highly recommend Charter North 4WD for a fantastically unique experience!

We, a family of five with three kids (12, 10 and 5) had an amazing 6 day tour to Kakadu, Nitmiluk and Litchfield with G.T. and Charter North a few weeks ago. The communication before the trip was great, and once we met G.T. and hopped in the car early the first day, we started a brilliant camping trip across the beautiful Top End from Darwin. G.T. has years and years of experience guiding people in this area and it really shows: whenever we had a question, he could tell us all details about the nature and/or indigenous culture. He also showed us the most important cultural sites and explained the story behind the life of the indigenous population of Australia. G.T. also is a very careful driver, and our children were not car sick for the first time in a long time.
The campsites were well picked and varied between “full facilities” on one end and “no facilities” on the other. Especially the latter was an amazing experience as it felt like we were camping in the middle of nowhere with only stars above and nature around us. Sleeping in swags in dome-tents made it even more special. Our three kids also really enjoyed the trip and G.T. made sure that we only took on as much walking as was suited for us. Unfortunately, one of the kids was not feeling well most of the trip, otherwise we would have been able to do some more challenging hikes.
The food was great, too, and both breakfast and dinner prepared lovingly on the camp fire. Every day we had a different healthy dinner (made from scratch on the open fire!) and it was always tasty. We had barramundi fish, jacket potatoes, salad and corn on the first night, stirfry the 2nd, pasta bolognese the 3rd, fried rice the 4th and lamb roast the 5th night. Lunch was healthy and filling too: sandwiches or wraps and lots of fruit and veggies. G.T. also continuously checked if we needed something else and made sure to remind us to drink enough water.
The kids loved the campfires and especially roasting marshmallows 😉

My wife and I and 2 university age daughters did the 6 day safari with Alina through Kakadu, Katherine Gorge and Litchfield National Park. It was stunning. The majestic scenery, timeless Indigenous art, gorgeous and totally rejuvenating waterfalls and swimming holes. There was a great mix of camping conditions, from hot showers all the way to ‘here is the shovel, go 30m that way’, all of it sleeping under a bed of stars. Alina – guide/ driver/ cook/ Wonder Woman – was tireless in delivering exemplary service, delicious campfire meals and a wealth of information.
